We are all influenced by our surroundings.
We are all influenced by our surroundings. For Lisa Montague, the visual environment has always played an important role. She grew up in Richmond, Virginia and studied at the University of Virginia amidst architecture and interiors that embodied the quiet attributes of balance, elegance and restraint. Lisa applies these classic principles to her decorating projects, whether they are traditional or contemporary.
Montague primarily caters to homeowners; she aims to enhance their enjoyment of the spaces in which they live and grow. Lisa teams with her clients to define their particular needs and desires, and then develops a design concept that considers personality and lifestyle, architecture, traffic flow, furniture placement, lighting, and color. She draws on an extensive network of resources to identify appropriate and unique furnishings and artwork. The desired result of the collaboration is very personal space that will welcome her clients home each day, where they will find repose.
Lisa Montague is an Allied Member of ASID. She founded Repose in 2005. She is privileged to practice interior design in the Washington DC Metropolitan area, having served clients in Arlington, Alexandria, Bethesda, Great Falls, Leesburg, Oakton, Reston and Vienna, and in Middlesex County on the Chesapeake Bay. Montague has represented high-end furniture, lighting, fabric, and accessory companies for the J. Lambeth Showroom in the Washington Design Center. She served as an interior designer in the office of Hugh Newell Jacobsen, FAIA. Lisa holds a BA in Art History from the University of Virginia and an AAS in Interior Design.
